Customers scan items with their own phone, pay in your Shopify checkout and walk out. No queue at the till.
The customer points their phone camera at the Scan & Pay sign. The scanner opens on your store, with no app to install.
They scan the barcode on each product, or the QR code on its shelf label. Each scan adds the item to their cart.
They tap Pay now and pay in your normal Shopify checkout. Shipping is hidden, so they choose Pickup at your store.
The Thank you page shows the order number and a live clock, so staff can see at a glance it isn't an old screenshot.
Open Scan & Pay in your Shopify admin and choose Plan. 7 days free, then $9.99 every 30 days.
Settings → Locations: your store needs a street address. Settings → Shipping and delivery → Pickup in store: turn it on for that location.
Each product you sell this way needs stock at the pickup location, and a barcode or SKU on the product.
In the app's Settings: turn on Scan & Pay and Pickup only for scan carts, add your areas (e.g. Front shelf), and Save.

For customers who'd rather hand items to staff. Turn it on in Settings → Counter.
In the app, open Counter. Scan with a USB barcode scanner or type the code, then tap Charge.
A QR code appears on screen. The customer scans it and pays on their own phone, in your checkout.
The Counter checks every few seconds and shows Paid once the money is in. Cash? Tap Paid in cash instead.
Filter Orders by these tags in Shopify, or see the latest on the app's Home page.
Every item in the cart needs stock at one pickup location that has a street address. Empty old items from the cart and try again.

Shopify asks for it on every card payment. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay fill it in with one tap.

Scan & Pay is turned off in Settings, or the plan isn't active. Check the app's Plan page.
